Our online training uses a number of different technologies to deliver a great training experience - however, it won't be so "great" if your computer system isn't compatible with them all. So please: Before registering, complete this five-step check to make sure you can join in the fun.
Step 1: Make sure your computer can run Windows PowerShell v1.0.
Step 2: Make sure your computer can run Microsoft Virtual PC and a virtual machine configured as a domain controller. This can be either Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008. Our class lab guide will walk you through the steps necessary to configure one of Microsoft's free evaluation virtual machines for use in your class. We do not provide technical support for Microsoft's virtual machines.
VERY IMPORTANT
Step 3: Make sure your computer can play our demo video (click here to download the 3-minute, 61.6MB sample). You'll need the free Quicktime Player to do this, and a screen resolution that can display a 1280x720 video. If you have a slightly smaller screen resolution, run the player full-screen and it should resize the video. Be sure to test this before registering for the class! Older computers or less-powerful computers may have trouble playing this back at full-speed, so be sure to check!Step 4: Join the WebEx test meeting to make sure you can use the WebEx service.
Step 5: Make sure your system has the appropriate audio hardware, including a headset if you plan to join the online sessions' audio using Voice-over-IP (VoIP). Or, if you plan to call the land line (toll charges may apply), consider investing in a telephone headset - it'll be a lot more comfortable for those hour-long calls. Please note that at this time we are offering only a land line call-in option; we hope to offer an integrated VoIP option by the time the class begins.
Once you've completed all of the above steps, you're ready to register for a class!
