I signed up and I am logged in but the forum does not allow me to post a reply to another post!! What am I missing?
It's a darn shame to go through the effort of signing up just to try and help another person and you are prevented from doing so!

You cannot reply to items in the Script Sharing forums.  You can post scripts but only scripts.  See rules of the Sharing forums.

You can post replies to scripts in the standard forums.

Which forumis it that you are having an issue with?

Ah ha! OK, I'm a nube and I was googling for some info when I came upon a question in your forum. I had a quick solution and thought I would post it for the individual.

The post is http://www.scriptinganswers.com/forum2/forum_posts.asp?TID=2990

Many people come here and never read the forum instructions.  They tend to junp to teh sharing forum even though it is NOT the default forum list.  They then post a question and don't ever see why no one answers them.

Whenthis forum was initially upgraded I complained bout how the sharing forum was set up but was told that that was the way it was due to the vendor of teh forum software.  I later found this to not be completely true but have not been able to raise conciousness enough to fix this.

I have asked for the post to be moved to the correct forum .  When it is moved you will be able to post a reply.

Sorry about the confusion.

Thanks for the reply. I now understand why I could not post, However, I agree with you, it is not a good way to set up that forum.
At the very least, an admin should be moving those types of posts to the correct forum.

I'll probably not be back.

On each post in teh Sharing Forum there is a llittle drop down with menu "Post Options" item - "Report this post".  This can be used to alert the operators whenever you find a post in the wrong location.

You can enter your answer now as the post has been moved :

Script Sharing is designed to allow you and other users to post scripts that you believe are useful to the community.  It works like a script repository.  THe biggest drawback is that it is too easy for many to believe that it is a forum for asking questions.

Perhaps it should be named "Community Scripts".  Do you have any suggestions as to how it could be named to help make it's use more obvious?

I have a suggestion that please add a feature in the forum showing that how many visitors are currently viewing a particular thread. Thanks
